Crisis or Opportunity?

On June 23-25, 2008 the GLFA convened Crisis or Opportunity? Sustaining and Strengthening Forest-Based Industries in the Great Lakes Region in Madison, Wisconsin.

The 3-day conference was a landmark event, drawing over 200 people together to raise awareness and identify actions to enhance forest-based industries and the role they plan in sustaining the region’s economy, environment, and quality of life.

Informed by the conference, the GLFA is preparing to advance regional initiatives to grow a forest-based bioeconomy, support emerging markets for forest carbon, ecosystem services and green building, maintain the working forest land base, and address threats to forest health. read more
